ACT 2 is one of Aberdeen Arts Centre’s resident theatre groups. The participants are young people aged between 12 and 18 interested in creating devised theatre. Since the establishment of the group in 2007 they have performed in a variety of festivals in and outside of Aberdeen, where they have won a number of prestigious awards. Last  year, the group represented Aberdeen district at a Northern final in the Webster Theatre, Arbroath as well as devising an interactive family piece for Aberdeen University’s Word Festival.
Due to its popularity, we are looking at starting a new Act2 group on Tuesday evenings 5.30-7.30pm.

Primary 5 to S1
This class is child-centered, and the group themselves decide on the term’s theme. The aim is for young people to learn different theatre techniques and styles . For the best results we encourage the young people to attend for the whole term as we will have a small sharing on the last day for families and friends.  This workshop is also a feeder for Act 2 and Castlegate Theatre School.

VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers play an important role in helping to run a successful centre. We have many roles available; helping with administration, working front of house, and helping out in the bar, to name but a few.
Without the help of our volunteer team, much of what we do would not be possible. So, if you would like to support your local arts centre and gain some valuable experience in the process then give Alexander, our volunteer coordinator, a call or pop into the office and speak to him.
Alexander works in the office every Tuesday 10:00-16:00, but is available to talk over the phone throughout the week.
